walnut table.jpg
There are only three boards in this ten foot long walnut dining table- the center board is nearly 20" wide, an amazing find! This one has a modified Shaker style, which suits the very modern eat in kitchen of this house in Scotland. Yes, I can ship anywhere!
If you look closely at the photo, you can see that this environment is quite relaxing.

I made a six of these, to go with the table in the first photo. They are hand carved out of solid mahogany. The motif at the crest of the back is a tulip, with a shell decorating the front seat rail.

I love to build wood from salvaged materials, and what a treasure these turned out to be! This table used to be a barn, but it was an overgrown pile of timbers when I discovered it in the front of someone's yard. Most of the timber turned out to be Chestnut, and the interior of much of the wood was still sound enough to make a few pieces of furniture.

bed .jpg
A stack of old doors, and a fireplace mantel came with some wide floorboards I purchased from an historic house being remodeled in Haddam, CT. The boards have long since been used to make table tops, but I had no idea what I was going to do with the molding, or the doors, until I got a commission to build this queen size bed. Three drawers on each side of the bed provide tons of storage for extra linens, and the cabinet style base give the bed a very solid base, so no box spring was needed.

Here is another piece made from that old barn. The design is very simple, being only four separate planks of wood, but I flared the angle a bit and added a gentle curve to the center stretcher to add a touch of style. I followed the pattern of worm holes on the edge of the seat plank to give the whole piece some interest- you can't fight nature, only work with her!

chestnut trestle table 1.jpg
The owners of this piece wanted a modern look, light weight, and reclaimed material. The top is made from reclaimed chestnut barn rafters that were sliced in half on the saw, and bookmatched edge to edge.

mike's table - side view1.jpg
This is a very straightforward Shaker style table. It has strong pegged mortise and tenon joints, and floating breadboard ends. Solid cherry with a maple base.
